Cockroaches are the most common reason people in Brisbane pick up the phone about pests. The warm, damp climate suits them, and they move easily between homes through drains, shared walls and bin areas. Two types cause most of the trouble. Small, light brown German cockroaches live close to food and water in kitchens and bathrooms, while the larger American and Australian cockroaches tend to come in from the garden, sub-floor or roof.
The crew we book starts by finding where they are sheltering. That usually means looking behind the fridge and stove, under the sink, inside cupboard hinges, around the hot water system and in the roof void. They then choose the method that suits the type of cockroach, often a mix of gel baits in the kitchen and a spray or dust in the roof and wall spaces.
